What is SayFlick? Understand and answer messages in any language
SayFlick is a free web app for one everyday problem: someone sends you a message in a language you don’t speak, and you need to understand it and answer.
What you can do with it
- Translate what you say or type. Pick two languages, speak or type, and get the translation. SayFlick can read it aloud with your phone’s voice or send it to WhatsApp.
- Understand a voice note. The voice-note translator (in beta) turns a voice note in Urdu, Arabic, English, Chinese or Hindi into text in your language. It runs on your phone, so the voice note is never uploaded.
- Talk face to face. The interpreter splits the screen between two people, each speaking their own language.
- Learn the phrases you need. Phrase packs cover work, the doctor and visas in Urdu, Arabic and English.
Who it’s for
People who live and work between languages: workers in the Gulf whose supervisor sends voice notes in Arabic, families with relatives abroad, traders talking to suppliers in another country.
What it costs
SayFlick is free to use in your browser. You don’t need an account to translate. Signing in adds your translation history, a phrasebook and practice.
